A major survey of twentieth-century British self-portraits. It's a who's who of the century's British artists, including Augustus and Gwen John,Minton, Spencer, Sickert, Wyndham Lewis and over 200 more. The core of the book is the Ruth Borchard Collection of 100 self-portraits from the 1950s and 1960s, for which, incredibly, she paid no more than 20 guineas a picture. The collection will find a permanent home in a new arts centre near King's Cross in 2007.
