Profiles of print-makers (some of national importance) working in the city in the inter-war years, with examples of their work.
Etching was at the height of its popularity in the 1920s and 1930s. Illustrated here are more than 60 etchings, mostly drawn from the collection of Bristol City Museums and Art Gallery, with the work of more than 15 artists, including noted exponents such as Stanley Anderson and Malcolm Osborne, along with several outstanding print-makers virtually unknown today, such as Alexander Heaney, Willis Paige, Nathaniel Sparks and Dorothy Woollard.
